The record.
From the registry, rebuilt from Peter's researched material cards. It is about 13 percent lighter than S12. Peter's own experience of it is the opposite of clear: it bled and would barely hold an edge until he sized it himself. Peter bought two packs, 100 sheets (2026-10-13), and as with S13 a lot of it was used up learning the paper. Of the 25 registered works on S14, 14 are full sheets (97 × 180 cm), 8 are cut to 90 × 100 cm and 3 to 50 × 100 cm. Peter sizes every S14 sheet he paints since he first discussed it (2026-10-22), so the work date decides: the seven works registered from October (T_385, T_386, T_388, T_391, T_392, T_393, T_395) are self-sized and labelled so in `vae.db`; the eighteen before are half-raw as sold. How far his glue takes S14 (for S13 he feels about three-quarter sized) needs more testing. From October 2026 Peter uses the same alum glue sizing on S14 as on S13: "it strengthens the paper and makes it more durable and heavier and better to work with" (2026-10-12).
“A very noticeable, major downgrade from S12: weak and flimsy, bleeds, can barely hold an edge; I have to size it myself to have a chance with it.”Peter Yuill · material card

What V23 read on it.
The mean rung on each ladder for paintings made with it, against the mean across every V23 reading. This mixes the material with the months it was used in; read it as a description only.
Bead: the mean rung on this material across 32 V23 readings. Ring: the mean across all 259. The line between them, and the number at the end, is how far this material sits above (cyan) or below (ember) the archive.
